  • BackPack Program- Franklin Borough School participates in Newton Social Services Department’s “BackPack Program”.  This program provides 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and a few snacks for the weekend.  Students pick up their bags on Friday afternoon.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Miss Minimi.  

  • The “Inspiring Youth” program will be for selected 5th and 6th graders during the gym period on Thursdays.  The Inspiring Youth program’s learning objectives include:

  • Personal Self-Management Skills

    • Students develop skills that enhance self-esteem, develop problem-solving skills, and help them reduce stress and anxiety, and manage anger.

  • General Social Skills

    • Students gain skills to meet personal challenges such as overcoming shyness, communicating clearly, building relationships, and avoiding violence.

  • Drug Resistance Skills

    • Students build effective defenses against pressures to use tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs.

  • WVRHS will be coming to Franklin School to schedule 8th graders on March 7th and 9th.

  • This year’s “Middle School Caring Award” winner is Caroline Shikata!
