8th Grade Spotlight Day 2

8th Grade Spotlight Day 2
Posted on 05/14/2020
Today's eighth grade spotlight is on Elaina Mercado and Lauren Gallanthan. Congratulations, Graduates.

Elaina Mercado - Accomplishments: Scoring a goal in soccer, earning the highest AR for the last 3 years Hobbies: Reading, sports, Tik Tok Favorite things: Taco Bell, friends, family. I will miss the excitement and the joy that comes out of Franklin. I will miss some of the people I know. I will miss the field days, and the special parties we had at this school. “I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.” This is my favorite quote by Marilyn Monroe. This just defines me so well. For the upcoming 8th graders: choose your friends wisely. TikTok is not the most important, neither is keeping up with the trending things. Be yourself, and if people don’t like that, well then tell them to buzz off. You’re perfect, and you’re wonderful. Don’t ever change.

Lauren Gallanthan - I am a varsity cheerleader and soccer player at Franklin School. I have participated in the school play every year since 5th grade and I’m part of the NJHS. Over the 9 years I have been going to Franklin School, I have learned kindness, compassion, and gratitude. From this I will leave this school with a positive attitude and a caring heart. Being in 8th grade comes with many challenges and capabilities, but it also has moments where we all come together as one. From this I encourage each and every one of the 7th graders going into 8th grade next year, to keep their head up high and shoot for the stars. Make every moment you have together special.
