The technology curriculum at Franklin Borough School was designed to foster the development of student abilities necessary for success in today’s computer driven society. Additionally, the course curricula were designed to provide students with skills for success in writing and to enhance writing habits. As a whole, this course of study is based on Franklin Borough School's belief that regular conversations between individual student writers and others about their writing help lead to improvement in written work by creating equal opportunities for student growth and expression. Students use desktop publishing technology and are responsible for virtually all aspects of technological publication activities.

Computers K-4

The students in Mrs. Ottogalli’s classes have been working with a software product called The Storybook Weaver Deluxe, from The Learning Company. The children have been very excited about writing stories and illustrating them. The software has text to voice capabilities, which can help the students to recognize spelling and grammatical errors in their writing. Look for completed stories to be coming home soon!
